About NSD
The Company occupies 3.8 acres of prime industrial estate in Kano and has installed capacity to produce 3 million kilograms of yarn per annum and dye 5 million kilograms of yarn per annum respectively.
The Company was set up as a Worsted Spinning Mill to use long staple fibres such as wool, viscose, acrylic etc. to produce specialised knitting and embroidery yarns. Using the Worsted System, NSD produces weaving, sewing and embroidery yarns from both synthetic and natural long staple fibres. It is also capable of utilising short staple cotton fibres but only after initial processing by other spinners using the Cotton System. It used to be the only large-scale producer of these yarns in West Africa.
